GLN Winter Hillwalking Weekend

Between: 24th January 2025 - 26th January 2025 All Day Event Location: Coetmor Mill, Brynbella, Bethesda, LL57 3DW

The weekend is intended to give leaders / young leaders the opportunity to go walking in mountainous terrain and gain experience in the upland environment with experienced instructors. Walking groups will be split based on ability and previous experience. T1 & T2 Summer Hillwalking Permit assessments can be catered for on this weekend.

The cost is £90 per person and includes transport, accommodation, (indoor, shared bunk rooms) and food from Saturday morning to Sunday lunch and use of any equipment as required.

Everyone attending is expected to help cook, wash up and clean the accommodation before departure on the Sunday.

We are also able to cater for T1 & T2 Hillwalking Permit Assessments on this trip.

As a polite reminder to all current and aspiring Hillwalking Permit holders, please be sure to keep your log books up to date with all the hillwalking you have done either within or outside of Scouting. When the time comes for assessment or renewal, the team of assessors will want to see it and your assessment or renewal will be reviewed by at least two assessors as per POR.

You will be contacted at a later date for payment. Further information and a kit list will be emailed out in due course.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
