About us

The Scouts are the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation. Greater London North is one of the most diverse Scout Counties in the UK, with land, sea and air Scouts and both Non-denominational Scout Groups and those dedicated to various faiths.

About Us

Hi and welcome to Greater London North Scout County.

We have 76 Scout Groups and 19 Explorer Scout Units in our County, providing everyday adventure for young people aged 6-25 each night of the week. We have over 5,100 youth members and a further 1,800 adults in Scouting in Greater London North.

The County is made up of five Scout Districts – Barnet Borough, Enfield, North London, Southgate and Docklands Scout Project.

Greater London North is one of the most diverse Scout Counties in the UK, with land, sea and air Scouts and both Non-denominational Scout Groups and those dedicated to various faiths.

Scouting across the County reflects the diversity of North London’s people – with over 100 languages spoken – Polish is the second most spoken main language followed by Bengali, Gujarati, French, Urdu and Arabic. Together we enjoy taking part in the Scouting adventure and it is that mix of communities that gives us the opportunity to ensure our young people are truly global citizens. It is only when we can break down barriers that we really appreciate different cultures and different ways of life.

Please take some time to view our website – there’s a load of information here for anyone interested in Scouting, about the activities our sections take part in, useful downloads for leaders, and an opportunity for you to stay connected with what we get up to. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see what we’ve been getting up to!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
