Supporting anxious Scouts in meetings

Date: 1st Dec 2021 Author: Steve Way

As meetings have begun again we have become aware of cases of young people struggling to return to Scouting or to cope with meetings and activities, due to COVID lockdown or for other reasons.

We have put together some strategies and resources for leaders to use, in meetings and in general, to help support young people (and adults) who may be anxious with social contact, have missed out on nearly two years of development of social skills or are anxious for any reason.

These are downloadable as a powerpoint slide deck here

This was originally delivered as a short Zoom session – if you want this presented as a session for your group (it takes around 45 minutes with time for questions) contact Steve Way on communications@gln-scouts.org.uk
