Adults in Scouting must hold a current first aid qualification (Module 10) at the time of gaining their wood badge, at appointment review and are encouraged to keep their qualification up to date between. First Aid qualifications normally last for three years.
The minimum standard for this qualification is First Response, but higher levels of expertise are needed if the adult wishes to give first aid training or lead certain kinds of adventurous activities.
Module 10 first aid courses (either British Red Cross, St John Ambulance – General First Aid Certificates or 1st Response) can be organised on demand to be delivered locally within districts. For further information contact the County Training Manager (training[@]gln-scouts.org.uk).
