The Scout Network is the Scout Association’s section for 18-25 year olds.
Becoming a member will give you the opportunity to take part in a wide range of exciting activities such as kayaking, rock climbing, water skiing, international projects in places as inspiring as Chile, Libya and Italy, volunteer with young people and help the local community, achieve the Queen’s Scout and Duke of Edinburgh Awards… The list of opportunities and events is almost endless.
The section is run on a less formal basis than the other youth sections in Scouting; this allows you to fit it around your other commitments. Your Scout Network may not necessarily meet on a weekly basis; this decision is down to the members.
The Scout Network is administered at a County level in Greater London North, however once you’ve joined you can attend any of the events across the County in our “Local Scout Networks”.
You will have the opportunity to complete the Queen’s Scout Award and if you were an Explorer Scout you can finish off your Chief Scout Diamond or Platinum Award as you work through the Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
This page has been designed to give you some information. Whether you’re an Explorer Leader wanting to know where Networking is happening, an Explorer 17 and worried what happens next or new to Scouting altogether and want to Join the Adventure for the first time or a Network member interested in what is happening in the county.
There are two membership fee bands:
1: If you hold an official appointment in scouting your fee will be paid for by your group/district so there is no extra fee.*
2: If you do not hold an official appointment in scouting then there is a fee this will cover your national and county membership fees.*
*There may be additional charges added by local networks. This is to be paid to the local network directly.
To become a full member, you now need to complete a Membership Form which can be requested from Phil Wilkins(CSNC) by emailing to the address lower on this page.
Once we receive your details we will send out a Criminal Records Bureau form as all over 18′s in scouting have to have a CRB check.
All that is left is for the CRB form to be posted back or handed to your local county network leader along with your membership fee.
If you wish for any more info on them we can help just email us.
