Development
Development in GLN is about supporting existing members and growing our membership, through:
- Opening new groups / sections
- Increasing youth membership
- Recruiting adult volunteers
- Reducing waiting lists
- Increasing representation from BME communities
- Increasing female membership
- Improving programme quality
- Supporting Groups / Districts write (and act on) development plans
There are three main people/teams involved in supporting development work in Greater London North:
County Development Board (CDB) – A team of people who steer the work of our County Development Manager are responsible for managing the finances of the County Development Project (through which the County Development Manager is employed).

Russ Dyble - CDM
County Development Manager – Our County Development Manager (CDM) is Russ Dyble, who started working for GLN in May 2007, initially on a three year contract. In 2010, Russ’ contract was extended to May 2013. His role is to support Groups / Districts in the priority areas outlined above.

County Development Team – A team of people who put development into action across the County, led by the County Development Manager.
