This summer 8 Network members from GLN attended the World Scout Moot in Iceland. The event started in Reykjavík where participants were split into patrols with International Scouts. Here the Expedition began and each patrol toured Iceland completing personal challenges and community projects. Each patrol then found their way to the Ulfljotsvatn Scout campsite, the most northerly scout campsite in the world!
Here they explored the Environment, History, Life and Art and Innovation. The International day gave everyone a change to experience different cultures and traditions. Iceland is a land forged of fire and ice and the participants found themselves walking up volcanoes, relaxing in a natural hot spring, crossing tectonic plates, watching geysir’s explode, celebrating at an evening campfire in full daylight and of course making life long international friendships.
