In 2016 GLN ranked 4th in the UK of the counties with the highest attendance on International Scouting trips by taking 253 Young People abroad. This year the county has exceeded this with an amazing 353 Young People attending an International trip. Nationally 20 Beavers went abroad and GLN were responsible for taking 9 of them and of the 30 Explorer Belt Expeditions 10% of those were from GLN!
A record number of young people from all sections have completed the Global challenge, International, World Faiths and World challenge badges.
36 Young people and 4 adults have been selected to represent the county at the World Scout Jamboree in 2019 and 2 Explorers/Network have been selected to represent the county at Roverway next summer.
As the year closes I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported both the Global and International elements of the scouting programme.
