There are lots of amazing International opportunities available through scouting whether it’s joining the UK contingent at the World Scout Jamboree to attending an International jamboree abroad or here in the UK.

International Update

It’s a busy time of year for the UK Contingent. This summer 10 members of GLN will represent the UK in the World Scout Moot in Iceland, participant selection for Roverway 2018 opens soon and the search for Jamboree Unit leaders for the 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019 will begin.

World Scout Jamboree

The 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019 is the first jamboree to be hosted by 3 national scout associations, Mexico, USA and Canada with the Jamboree camp being held at The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.

Applications for the Unit Leader role are now open! Participant selection will commence later on this year and International Service Team (IST) selection will take place next year.

The Role descriptions, person specifications and application form for the Jamboree Leadership team can be found hereThe deadline for completed applications is Wednesday 31st May 2017. Unit Leader interviews will be held on Sunday 11th June 2017 and a selection day for Deputy and Assistant Leaders will be held a week or so later.

Roverway

The Roverway 2018 will be held in the Netherlands and is open to 16-22 year olds. We are looking to recruit a patrol of 6-8 participants, with one patrol leader aged between 18-22. Further information will be released in May/June and IST selection will commence in the summer.

County International Team

The County International team currently has a vacancy for a Contingents and Events advisor who will assist in supporting those attending the Moot, Roverway and the World Scout Jamboree. For more information about this role please click here
