Gilwell announced in late July that the national subscription payable for each eligible member included on the Annual Census taken at the end of January 2012 will be £21.00

As has already been notified, the additional County subscription is also being increased, to £5.00 per member.

There is as in previous years a 50p rebate for payment by St George’s Day, so the County will be invoicing Districts and eligible County Units (Scout Network, Galleon SAS and S50 SAS) around the end of February with £25.50 per member, for immediate payment.

This covers the National and County subscriptions, Districts may of course make additional charges (or rebates) and will arrange collection and dates for payment locally. This information is being provided to help clarify charges and to enable local arrangements to be made ahead of the collection date.

COUNTY AGM

WEDNESDAY 9 JUNE 2010

7.30pm for 8.00

CCI DISTRICT HQ

319-321 HOLLOWAY ROAD, LONDON N7 9SU

This message and the associated documents on the website make up the formal Calling Notice for the AGM.

You are of course welcome to download the documents and print them out if you want to study them at your leisure. Paper copies of the Agenda, Report and Review will be available at the meeting.

There are two aspects of the AGM where you are invited to feed in your comments and suggestions before the meeting:

  • 9 County-level officers are elected or appointed at the AGM (Treasurer; Secretary; 4 Members of the Executive Committee; Nominated Member and Nominated Youth Member to represent GLN on the Scout Association’s Council; and the Independent Examiner). The names of the current office holders are listed in last year’s Minutes. You are entitled to nominate candidates but, before doing so, should consider very carefully whether they have the personal and professional skills and qualifications, and the time, to undertake the roles efficiently and effectively. You obviously need their permission to put their name forward; and should consult the County Commissioner as well since the officials are there to support him and he needs to be happy he can work with them. Nominations should be sent to the County Secretary by letter or e-mail, and arrive by Friday 4 June.
  • The Trustees Report & Financial Statements is in a format laid down by law and is not always easy reading for non-accountants. It does, however, cover matters that are very important to the delivery of better Scouting to more young people in North London. If you have questions you wish to ask, it would be helpful for them to be registered with the County Treasurer well before the meeting so that, if appropriate, what might be a lengthy answer to a complex matter can be provided without taking up too much time on the night.
